Salthouse History site




There was William Lynn in Salthouse in 1838 according to Edward Houghton's Survey of that year.

According to the 1891 census, a William Lynn,bricklayer's labourer, was living in Cley Road Salthouse (now the Coast Road), with his wife Maria, son William, and daughter Sarah. He was possibly the grandson of the William Lynn on this gravestone.

 

William Lynn (Master Mariner?), born c 1812 in Salthouse, married Hannah Mary --,
       born in Field Dalling in 1821. [This is clearly the William of this gravestone above]
The children of William and Hannah Lynn were :

Robert John Lynn b. 1849 in Salthouse. He married Eliza Ann -- born 1850 in Blakeney
Richard May Lynn b. 1859 in Salthouse and died 1828 in Salthouse. He married Alice Dack b.1877 in Yorkshire.
Elizabeth Lynn b. 1854 in Salthouse. She married William Dew (Master Mariner?) b. 1840 in Salthouse.
